Narrative Film
My major project for 2025 was a short film written and directed by Bailey Jackson. CIA Agent Noam Staedtler, on his modern day witch hunt attempting to bring them into the fold of intelligence operations.
“Anomalous” is a mission-gone-wrong.
Starring Ben Winspear & Astrid Wells, this short filmed over 2 days on location at Frank’s Cider in Franklin, is to serve primarily as a proof of concept for a feature currently being written.
With the exceptional talent of Tasmanian gaffer Richard Williams, we blacked out an entire cafe with large windows and sky lights to keep a consistent night ambience, as all of Astrid’s shots were completed during the day. In the script Noam arrived as rain battered down on the windows, this of course being Tassie was not a guarantee so we built a rain machine.

Like with everything, good does come with the not so- albeit minor details. Small instances of continuity mishaps presented themselves in the edit, required specialised attention. Eye lights needed boosting & a bright practical was removed from the final project. All in all a great benchmark to have achieved and we are more that pleased with the final result.
